l am 23 years old and my right eye is worse than the other, I've worn glasses and contacts(not at the same time) since l was 15 . Anyhow,
l wanna get lasik surgery but what l was wondering since I am in theater too, if l can wear contact lenses after surgery?

My aunts friend got lasik a year ago, and l seen her wearing contacts and that scared me because from what l am told you're not even supposed to scratch your eyes after lasik.... so how can she wear contacts!!! Does anyone have an answer, or can someone explain... I am a little ignorant....???

well anyone should not be scratching their eyes .
From my understanding you can wear contact lenses after LASIK. You should wait till the eye has completely healed and the flap is stuck back. Like some people have to undergo further LASIK - for touch ups .
but hey l could be wrong so just ask them

You r correct in that the lasik flap created is more delicate than ur normal, healthy eye was pre-surgery. It is up to her to take the risk of contact with it.

That said, l am personally in the party who believes that there is no legitimate reason to put yourself through the risks of lasik when u otherwise have healthy eyes. Having a refractive error (needing glasses) does not make ur eyes fundamentally unhealthy. So, take a moment to think about that. You r cutting healthy tissue that regulates one of ur most important senses- ur sight.

The side effects r 'rare' (based on studies funded by the industry itself, as irony would have it), but even if they r truly as uncommon as claimed.. why risk being that one in 100 when glasses pose no risk whatsoever?

Yes, u can write that off as a small risk all u like, but that is THE RISK. And u take that risk so u can switch from wearing powered contacts to plano ones? If u still want to, go ahead, but go for it knowing you're risking something pretty important.

no.lense will not very possible after lasik.the lenses will be those specially made ones for her...

First, you have to be a suitable candidate for lasik surgery. You dont have to wear contact lenses after surgery . You have to avoid getting any water such as: swimming, showering, sauna, contact sports, gardening or anything that may expose you to germs.

Well, l have not had it myself personally, but a lot of friends swear by it, & r glad that they got it.
