What do you think would happen to your eyes if you kept putting eye drops for red eyes(not much maybe one drop), very often? Do you think its really bad for you? what are future effects?
say for example Naphcon A Eye drops

Visine is one of the WORST things you can put in your eyes. There is a chemical in it that over the long term does more harm than good. In my Ophthalmology office, we recommend our patients use a natural tears product 4 times a day. Typically that will have the most lasting affect and be the most gentle on your eyes. Some to try: Refresh Tears, Optive, Genteel, Systane. They are all available without a prescription:)

l would suggest seeing a doctor about it and possibly getting a prescription for drops for the condition. l know I've been on eye drops (steroidal and for the retina) for over a year now but they are prescribed by the dr. If you're worried the best place to get an answer would be from the eye doctor. Do not mess with your vision, when its damaged its damaged. Good Luck!

It is bad. 2 part:

1: BAK- the preservative. This disrupts ur tear film & is generally toxic stuff for healthy corneas. You want to avoid it if at all possible.

2: the vasoconstriction. This means that ur eyes get less red temporarily, but repeated use can cause rebound redness, which is redness as a result of using the drops. Not ideal!

Instead, if ur eyes feel dry, use a safe & presevative free drop like 'refresh classic' or 'bion tears' or 'systane' in -single use vials-, not bottles.

For the redness, fill a ziplock bag with a few cubes of ice (not a lot) & add cool water. Push the air out of the bag & seal it, & putting a tissue over ur eyelids, put the bag on ur closed eyelids & keep it there until the ice melts. The coldness should help improve the redness somewhat.

If the redness persists a few weeks after u stop the drops, see an eye dr.
