My prescription is:

8.6 / 14.2-12.50
8.6 / 14.2-14.00

l have tried several daily-wear lenses and they become uncomfortable after just a few hours.l have tried nearly everything including different brands, prescription re-wetting drops, special over-night cleansers, etc. etc..It was suggested to me that l try extended-wear lenses, but still take them out to clean them each night.

My concern is whether or not extended-wear lenses can be made in my prescription.Many company is websites do not list this information.

CooperVision makes a Hydrasoft (even in a toric lens for persons with astigmatism), EX (extended wear), Level I l (high power) that should meet your requirements. l found these on a website called lensdiscounters.com. They also have many different highpower, extended wear lens choices.

l have found that most DOCTORS & staff mean ''lenses that can be slept in'' when they say ''extended wear''. but most patients mean ''lenses that r thrown away infrequently'' (as in non-disposable lenses) when they use the term ''extended wear''.

the FDA only clears some materials for true sleeping-in extended wear, & only in certain Rx's. most (all?) eye docs would probably agree that -12.50 & -14.00 is too much Rx to sleep in, no matter what the material is.

the higher the Rx, the thicker the lens. the thicker the lens, the less O2 ur cornea gets. in general silicone lenses r more oxygen permeable & probably safer for use in high Rx's.however l dont think there is a silicone lens made in either -12.50 or -14.00 with the following exception: O2 Optix Custom by Ciba. it would be a daily wear, quarterly replacement, & you'd likely have to order it from an optometrist instead of on the internet, etc. like the name says it'd be a ''custom'' lens, so maybe a little pricey. but in that type of Rx it'd likely be safer than traditional hydrogel (like the ''hydrosoft'' mentioned by another answerer)

l totally concurr with ''princeid''. You would be better off not to sleep in your lenses b/c of the thickness of them; especially with all the dryness problems and clouding of your lenses you mentioned earlier in a question.
