l sometimes see double of a number such that l see the number 44, then see it again in a dimmer form to the right of its original position. l sometimes see letters shifted to the right as well. l have type 1 diabetes, but l have recently got my yes checked an they were fin e, l also have had very little sleep over the pas few weeks, could this be it? Any ideas on what this could be, its not dyslexia since l see andd understand what l see. Also sometimes when l close my right eye it seemeverythingg is clear,

If you're seeing double, that means that ur eyes r not working well together. This could be for any number of reasons, & u need to see ur eye doctor. You might need correction for just one eye. If ur blood sugar has been high lately, u might want to get ur retinas rechecked, but there r usually no symptoms of blurred vision for diabetic retinopathy.

It could possibly be due to the lack of sleep. Your eyes might not be focusing as well as they usually do. Try getting a good night is rest, & if it is still going on, go to an optometrist.

Sounds like a medical problem. An eye doctor would be the first place I'd go. He could then recommend other options if necessary.

you are crossing your eyes.
and when you cross your eyes you see double.
you can only see double if you can see out of both eyes so when you close one then it automatically goes away.
and yes if you have not gotten much sleep it can easily happen without you realizing it.

The condition u describe is commonly experienced by people who have corneal scars. We can suffer an injury to the surface of the eye without necessarily realizing it has happened. Do u recall having the sensation of something foreign in ur eye before u noticed this change in ur vision? It may have been a problem for a day or two & then went away. Since the cornea is one of the fastest healing tissues in the human body, minor injuries will usually heal in about 24 hours. Once an injury has healed u might be left with a surface defect on the cornea that distorts ur vision in exactly the way u describe - but this is not the only possible explanation.

Do u see a ''halo'' effect around a light source at night - like a street light for example? That could be further evidence of a corneal scar or defect. l have several scars on my corneas from the effects of a genetic disorder, & what u describe is what l live with very day. If this is troubling to u l would recommend that u see an ophthalmologist soon. Please do not consult an optometrist. Ophthalmologists r medical doctors who specialize in the diagnosis & treatment of eye diseases & injuries, while optometrists r specialists in prescribing corrective lenses & the like. One thing l have learned from personal experience is to not take chances with my eyes, & l hope u will seek a medical opinion about ur situation. While an injury, most likely a minor one, is most likely responsible for ur current eye problems, there could be a disease behind it as well, & it is always advisable to have that checked out. Corneal defects can have many different causes & many r easily treated.

Of course l am not a doctor, so this is at best a guess. Please consult a medical doctor, even ur family physician, & get the right answer. Do not mess with ur eyes - it is not worth the needless worry to put off an eye exam when u can get the & resolve the problem.

Best of luck to you. Please get the u deserve - from a professional. It can put ur mind to rest & most likely resolve the issue!
