My doctor says l can not because my vision is not weak enough.

l thought anyone can wear contacts if you have vision problems. Try seeing another eye doctor for a second opinion.

Wow, you are not legal for driving in any of the fifty states if your vision is less than 20/40 so l am not sure what the dr. is basing it on. Is that your vision in both eyes. If one eye is 20/20 and the other 20/80 he/she may feel that correcting the one eye could cause double vision or headaches. l do not know. But plain and simply, your vision is weak enough that you should be wearing a prescription all the time for distance.

It depends entirely on what is causing ur vision to be 20/80

Your prescription probably has some astigmatism involved.

A prescription like - 50 - 50 X 90 , could cause u to have a 20/80 visual acuity, but is not strong enough to get contacts..or at least not have as good a vision as u would with glasses.

Just knowing ur visual acuity is 20/80 does not give any real idea of what the prescription is that u need.

There r many combinations of mild prescriptions that contacts wo not work for.

l have 20/20 in my right eye and 20/50 in my left eye. l wear a contact lens in my left eye. My doctor even recommended using a contact lens to better balance my vision.

It seems like a strange response to me. l would ask your doctor for more information or find a new doctor.
