l currently wear glasses, because im eye sight is horrible, mostly distance. I've been wearing them for about 4 years now. They become such a pain because l get headaches and sometimes my nose hurts from them sitting on it all the time.
My doctor asked if l ever thought of contacts, and to be honest l hav not until now.
For those of you who wear contacts im just curious of some things, the normal questions people fear of.
1. Does it hurt any putting them in?
2. Can you do any damage to your eye if you have problems putting them in?
3. Whats it feel like once they are in your eye, can you feel it?
4. How often can you use the same pair?
l know my doctor will explain but how do you put them in?
and finally,
what do you have to go through to get them? Do you have to do a regular eye scan like for glasses or more detailed?
I am sorry there are so many questions, l just wanna make sure l know things before l get my doctor involved.
Thank you!!!!!!!

1. Putting them in does not hurt. It is a little tricky at first but it gets easier with practice. You just have to make sure u r putting them in correctly & that ur hands r washed. Once l had sunscreen on my hands when l put my contacts in & it was the most painful thing l had ever experienced.
2. l think u r more likely to damage ur eye taking them out than putting them in. You just have to remember to use ur fingers & not ur finger nails. If u use ur fingernails u could scratch ur eye & have permanent damage.
3. Once it is in ur eye u can not even feel it. My eyes always look bigger when l wear mine because it makes ur eyes open a little wider.
4. l use mine for 2 weeks at a time. l guess it depends on the brand & prescription & stuff.
You put it on ur finger tip on one hand & open ur eye with the other hand & then u place it on ur eyeball.
You just have to go to the eye doctor & have ur eyes checked & see what works best for you. l have my eyes checked every 6 months.
Contacts r great! l love them. Good luck!

1. NO, u just have to get over ur fear of touching ur eyes 2. Yes but ur optometrist will teach u how to do it properly. You're at risk of scratching but again, ur optometrist will keep an eye on that 3. When u first start wearing them, you're quite aware of them but u get used to them quickly. After that, when my eyes get tired, l feel them more 4. It depends on the type - u can get daily, monthly or hard contacts (not used often anymore) that last for years
to put them in:
put the contact on the tip of ur index finger. With ur middle finger, pull down ur bottom eyelid, place contact on eye blink :) that is how l do it
You have a more detailed exam because they get the shape of ur eye to get the best fit

1. It is not painful unless there is a piece of lint or hair on the contact. In this case, use some contact solution to gently rinse. After a little practice, u will be able to put in ur contacts easily & painlessly.
2. Unless u r absolutely ramming the contact into ur eye, u will have no problems. l have had a contact rip in my eye before, & though it was painful until it was removed, it caused no damage.
3. Once in properly, u will not feel the contact. You may feel it if ur eyes become dry, but an easy solution is eyedrops.
4. There r many types of contacts. Some r used for one day & thrown away, some r worn during the day & removed at night, & some r worn 24/7. It really depends on the type u choose.
5. Put the contact on ur pointer finger, gently spread ur eye open using ur other hand, & insert.
6. The process is somewhat more in depth than glasses. Your eyes need to be measured for a correct contact size. However, this is an easy & pain free process.
Hope this helps!

hi there=) 1. It might hurt putting them in at first, until u get used to touching ur eye & find ur own little technique. what l do, is make sure u have a lot of solution on the contact before putting it on ur eye so that it does not dry out quickly. 2. Contacts r very delicate, they can get scratched easily & sometimes it is hard to notice the tear, so u will keep trying to get it in & might end up scratching ur eye in the process. But if u be careful & take good care of them u should have no problems. 3. Once they r in correctly, u wo not feel them at all! They might get dry & itchy sometimes, especially if u have allergies or get colds a lot. 4. It depends on the kind u get. The ones l have, l wear daily/monthly contacts, so l take them out at night, & replace them with a new pair each month. l know there r a bunch of different kinds, ones that u can sleep in.
Putting them in can be tricky at first. You will want to place the contact, open side up, onto ur index finger & then squeeze some solution onto it. Then, with ur other hand, lift ur eyelid up & just pop it in! Blink a few times to make sure it is in place correctly. And to take them out, what l do is l push the contact to the bottom of my eye, so that it will fold & is easier to grab.
And l did not have to go through any extra exams or anything.
WHEW! Hope l helped=)

It is completely natural to have these questions & maybe more if this is ur first time & of course u might be a little intimidated by the fact to put something inside ur eye.. l know l did so this is my experience l hope it helps my reply:
1. Does it hurt any putting them in?
It should not hurt but It will probably take u some time to adjust to have something in ur eye depending how sensitive u are..but trying them on could be an adventure so do not be scared
2. Can u do any damage to ur eye if u have problems putting them in?
l do not think u could damage ur eyes
3. Whats it feel like once they r in ur eye, can u feel it? l will not lie telling u that u wo not feel them, since is ur first time like l said u & ur body has to get used to something inside ur eye but l assure u some brands r comfortable enough u will get used to in no time
4. How often can u use the same pair?
that is a matter of choice & budget, they sell many options now for contacts they come in daily, weekly & monthly so it will depend on ur budget & how often u want to use them.my experience l use the weekly & l tell u l sleep in them but If l am really tired my eyes get really tired so l take them off at night
l know my doctor will explain but how do u put them in?
Definitely the doctor is office will !!! so that will answer all ur questions & l assure u that they will help u in all possible ways to make sure u r comfortable wearing ur lenses :o)
My trick.hands clean by the way.
when l go put my contacts l open my lower lid with one finger (middle finger & l have my contact in my pointer) l look either left of right but l do not stare at the contact directly then l put it in & l direct my eyeball to it , it sounds more complicated than it is done trust me.you will find ur own way :o)
what do u have to go through to get them? Do u have to do a regular eye scan like for glasses or more detailed?
You usually go through a ''fitting'' exam if u had already done ur regular eye exam & the doctor finds u a suitable candidate for contacts (some people unfortunately r not suitable to wear them) But if u r they will do a fitting for contacts (because they need to measure ur iris & all that goodies) & they will give u a prescription for contacts that u either fill at their office or in the future can send for ur contacts by online or mail.
l hope this helps best luck to you And l hope u feel more comfortable now go for it :o)

1. Does it hurt any putting them in?
It can hurt a little when u first do it because ur not used to it & ur not good at it. But with a little experiance it will be like second nature.
2. Can u do any damage to ur eye if u have problems putting them in?
There is always a risk of scratching the surface of ur eye. But thats not usually from the contacts its mostly from other things that r on ur fingers when u put the contact in. Just make sure u wash ur hands well & there is nothing on ur hands when u r putting them in & u should not have a problem.
3. Whats it feel like once they r in ur eye, can u feel it?
You can not feel them at all once they r in. In all actuallity its like a protective coating for ur eye. If u get something in ur eye without contacts it can hurt really bad. But with the contacts it will be touching the contact not ur eye so it sort of protects it.
4. How often can u use the same pair?
There r different types of contacts the most popular r monthly that u get a new pair every month. Honestly its a personal preference because my mom goes through contacts like water because she wears makeup & she doesnt clean them properly. But if u take care of them like l do u can wear the same pair for months & months without any problems.
5. l know my doctor will explain but how do u put them in?
l just put the contact on my index finger of my right hand & pull down the bottom eyelid with my ring finger & put the contact in my eye. They will tell u to use ur left & and open ur eye with 2 fingers & put the contact in woth the other hand but that is alot more complicated & just uncomfortable.
6. What do u have to go through to get them? Do u have to do a regular eye scan like for glasses or more detailed?
The exam for contacts is exactally the same as with glasses.
Once u get contacts u wont know what u did without them. When l got rid of my glasses l got less headaches & my nose didnt hurt at the end of the day from the glasses being on it all day. Plus u can doze off in ur contacts & not worry about ur glasses bending or breaking. That is a huge plus. All in all l think u will enjoy the freedom that comes with contacts over glasses.
