l am 14 years old and l got my glasses when l was 13 because l can not see very well far away. My glasses do not look bad on me but l really do not like wearing them at school because everyone keeps telling me l look like a ''naughty school teacher'' and i'm tired on the comments. l can not tell me mom about the comments because she would get really mad and yell and them and get them in trouble. They are my friends and l know they are just joking around but l still do not like it.

My mom said l could get contacts this year and every time l bring the subject up she changes the subject.

She says that she does not want me to have them yet because my eyes are changing and she keeps making up weird stuff so l wont want them anymore.


How can l convince her??

your eyes dont really change, your vision does. and your vision changes even with glasses. your eyeballs dont grow or anything

im 14 & l got contacts 2 yrs ago. that was a great choice. glasses suck & l sympathize with you. my brothers eyes r very bad & the eye doctor said that contact would slow the rate of change.(tell ur mom to talk to ur eye doctor about it). my brand of contacts is acuvue oasis with hydroclear plus(i think) & they r fantastic! l do not feel them at all, but it takes getting used to at first. the instructions say that u r supposed to throw them away every 2 weeks because they get unsanitary, but nobody does. u can wear them for a few months(if they do not rip), because they r so expensive. they r not a big deal to have, not much cleaning, & all u have to do is put them in & take them out. l hope u get them because u will be much happier! ok im new to contacts and l dont feel themm at all they are super comforabtle and much better tan glasses tell her they are suped to slow down the rate at which ur eyes get worse
