l do not wanna waste money on another exam if l bring in my old contacts can they use that to get the prescription for my glasses and contacts?

They can not get ur prescription withyour contacts. But they do have ur old prescription on file. You May be able to order another box of contacts, & maybe some glasses. But not sure?? l do know however, ur prescription could expire at any time. It all depends on the person. l have my eyes check at least once a year & they r always changing (even within 6 months sometimes).

So if u see well, then l am pretty sure u can just call them & order another box!

Every eye doctor I've been to gives me yearly exams for both contacts & glasses. l think the expiration date may be a state (not federal) guideline, but l could be incorrect.

l would suggest getting another exam since ur eyes may have changed. This may cost some money up front but if ur eyes have changed even slightly it may help u avoid eye strain and/or other eye conditions.

Ask ur doctor to take the prescription with you; u may be able to save money on the glasses/contacts at a different sales outlet other than ur doctor is office.

Finally, to answer ur question about pricing, without insurance, my glasses (frames, lenses) would have cost about $330 (US). In my opinion, there is not much difference in the lens quality if u get the protective coatings or not. I've had my lenses coated with it & without it & price aside, l actually prefer the lenses without the coating (which I've found starts to break down after a few years).
