l started wearing them at 10. No. It is not uncomfortable once your eye becomes accustomed to having something against it. Make sure the 11-year old knows about contact care and follows recommendations.

The day l got my contacts l could not even feel them in my eyes.
So I'd say they're not uncomfortable.
The only thing l found irritating was the putting in and out of the contacts, but eventually l got used to it and found a good technique.
