l know eye colour can change early on in life, but can a persons eye colour change after that?

A colleague has been told that a friend of a friend has eyes that change colour depending on their mood, I am dubious but thought l should check before l tell him it is impossible.

So is it?

l have a friend of a friend of a colleage that has colour changing eyes.

my eyes turn like neon green when l cry and bright green when im happy but when im just blah they are army green almost brown looking. but yes mine change all through the day

Only as a baby, then often eye colour changes, but l have never heard of it in adults. Only if someone wears coloured contacts.

Eye color is about reflection of ambient light from the structure of the iris. People with lightly colored irises note that their eye color changes according to the colors they wear. No mystery there, but the resultant apparent color of the eye is a combination of the color reflected from one is clothing (or even eye make up) & is not always what u might expect!



Some people have noted that when they r ill or under stress that their eye color becomes darker or lighter. Clearly there has been a change in the distribution and/or density of melanin or lipofuscin on the iris. How this actually occurs is not fully understood, but we r beginning to have some clues as to the processes. A recent medication used to treat glaucoma, latanoprost, causes such a color change. We understand, at least partially, the mechanism of action of the drug, a prostaglandin analog, which means it mimics this hormone, which is normally present in the body. It would appear, then that hormones may have effect iris pigmentation & this might explain the change in eye color sometimes seen in adults. It should be mentioned that there r certain specific systemic & eye diseases that can cause a change in iris color & any marked change of short period of time requires prompt medical attention

Every one is born with blue eyes, then they change or dont after a about 6 months old, dependant on the amount of melanin in their protein.

l do not believe they continually change, I've never heard of it.

Rubbish!!! Only by using colored lenses! That said, if you're receiving treatment for glaucoma, one of the medications can change light eye color to brown but is an unusual side effect! l think your friend is pulling your leg!!!

Yes it is possible. l had pale blue eyes as a child, but they turned greenish grey as l got older, some days they also turn blueish green, or just plain green. It is very noticeable in photographs. :-)

my eye change by the hour they go from green to blue to brown to gay they will prob turn pink next lol
