Basically, is it bad to keep glasses on that are meant to see distance things? l work at a desk job and work on a computer all day. It is a hassle to keep putting on and taking off my glasses. Sometimes l just leave them on as l do have to look up from the desk/computer to see things in the distance. If l do not have my glasses on things are still discernable, just a little fuzzy. So is it bad to keep them on at all times?

its not technically ''bad'' for ur eyes. it just makes them weaker. the reason for this is that ur eyes start depending on the glasses. l used to wear glasses all the time. then l started taking them off for reading, computer, etc.(im also nearsighted). it was such a hassle so l just took them off for good. well.. l still need them to see the board in school & watch t.v. but its so much better now. l have a small perscription(1.25) or sumting, so it is not horrible without them.

so u have choices here. whatever u choose is fine, just depends on ur preference.
choice 1: continue what ur doing
choice 2: do what l said.

lol. ok good luck♄

It wo not hurt your eyes or make them weaker. Your glasses are prescribed for you to use so use them. If you see better with them up close too, that just means that your eyes can still accomodate for near vision. If you are having difficulty seeing even with your glasses on, you may need a multifocal lens.Bottom line - Using your glasses or not using them will not hurt your eyes or make them get worse.

It does not hurt u to leave them on. l have astigmatism & use eyeglasses/contacts for distance vision in my left eye. l usually wear a contact lens in my left eye & eyeglasses as needed usually for driving. l know some people who r mildly nearsighted who remove their eyeglasses when using the computer. l know others who leave them on.

l think this also depends on how nearsighted u r as well. l have two friends who r nearsighted & can only see clearly about 12 inches away from their face who wear theirs all the time.

If you are young and can see to read without them, leave them off for this.

It is best if you use them for distance viewing and take them off for near work if you do not want to make your vision worse.
