If you are myopic (nearsighted), your lenses have a minifying effect, meaning that things look slightly smaller through them--including your face behind the lenses if someone else is looking at you (or if you're looking at yourself in the mirro). Contacts do not have this effect since they sit right on your eyes. That may be why. :)

l agree that you probably see close up images a little larger. Also, some contacts have a slight tint to them(to make them easier 4 u 2 c) you may be seeing a hint of xtra color beyond the colored part of your eye. Hope this sheds some light (ha)
