I am 12 - 13 and my mom says I am too young, cause my eyes are still growing, for contacts. But l do sports and stuff, and glasses are annoying.

There is no specific age to get contacts. However, there is a certain level of responsibility necessary. Depending on what kind of contacts u need (one day use, 2 week use, hard, soft) there r different maintenance procedures u must follow. If u fail to clean ur hands before touching ur contacts or properly cleaning the contacts with the appropriate solution, it could result in & eye infection or even worse-blindness.

That said, l got my contacts when l was 13. In fact, l got contacts before glasses. They significantly helped me in sports & l would recommend them for any active lifestyle.

no specific age - just go to the optometrist and they will see if you are able to wear contacts. l know theres people that have had them when they're 11, l got them when l was 13. but yeh you do have to have good responsibility and be able to take care of the contacts so maybe that is what your mum is worried about.
